Original Photo of Shivaji Maharaj

There is no one original photo of Shivaji Maharaj as he lived during the 17th century, long before the invention of photography. However, there are numerous paintings, sculptures, and sketches of Shivaji Maharaj that were created during his lifetime or shortly after his death. These artistic depictions of Shivaji Maharaj provide a glimpse into his appearance and attire.

Some of the famous paintings of Shivaji Maharaj include the ones by artist M. V. Dhurandhar and the ones commissioned by the Peshwas, the prime ministers of the Maratha Empire. There are also several sculptures and statues of Shivaji Maharaj that can be found throughout India, such as the one located at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

Overall, while there is no one original photo of Shivaji Maharaj, there are several artistic representations of him that provide insight into his appearance and demeanor.

What did you learn from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj?

Dheerodatta

If there is any crisis, we get scared. It is human nature. But whenever he thinks about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he sees the events of Maharaj's death step by step. Examples are Afzal Khan's raid, Shahiste Khan, siege of Panhal fort, defeat by Mirza Jaisingh, imprisonment in Agra, battle at Sangamner, attack on Surat followed by two poisonings. If 2/3 of Swarajya had been lost in Purandar Treaty, one would not have revolted again. But Maharaj took time and took revenge again.

In each of these situations, he believed in himself and came out of that situation safely. After a few more years, if the next generation imagines that Shivaji Maharaj is not a man but a god, then there is nothing special

Feminine South and Character

Shivaji Maharaj is the only Maratha court where no woman ever danced. Our king excels in one test of "Character"...

Chakravarti Emperor who literally "swept the dust on the battlefield and in politics" of all the fighting forces of the world like Turks, Uzbeks, Pathanis, Habashis, English, Dutch..

Mughal historian Khafi Khan writes, "Shivaji Maharaj treated women as a brother treats a sister or a son treats a mother." Shivaji always respected women. Respecting the women of your enemy's party is a high moral code.

Talking about the Maharajas, Khafi Khan, the historian of Aurangzeb, says that at present there is no other ruler in this country who has the character and tolerance of Shivaji. Shivaji Raja has great respect for women. This assessment is done by Khafi Khan, who criticizes Maharaj, but he is also the author of the character of the staunch enemy. The example of daughter-in-law of Subhedar of Kalyan is enough. His legacy was carried on by the Marathas for a few years, providing shelter to the women and children of the enemy party. No ruler can be found in the history of the world who can be compared to Maharaj. Scholars compared Napoleon and Maharaj. Napoleon was brave and mighty like a king but there are many proverbs about his character. There is not a single proverb in history about the character of Shivaji kings.

Such was the morality of Shivaji Raj. That is why he protected the women of Swarajya and foreign states. Many examples can be given of the fact that he severely punished the Gujars who did injustice to women.

The ability to collect and retain people

Alexander and Raja were compared by some people. Alexander wanted to conquer the world. The kings had no personal ambitions. They only wanted to defend their religion against tyranny. Alexander's army often left. This has never happened to kings. Faced death but did not become unfaithful to Maharaja. Baji Prabhu Deshpande, Murar Baji, Tanaji Malusare, Jeev Mahale Ashya and many unknown Sardars gathered Mawle.

warrior :

After Sambhaji Maharaj and to some extent Rajaram Maharaj, no one from the Bhosle clan ever entered the battlefield and this may be one of the reasons why the administration of the state passed to the Peshwas. After warriors like Bajirao Peshwa, the Peshwas stopped entering the battlefield and Swaraj went to the British. A western traveler named Abe Carre writes about Chhatrapati Shivji Maharaj-

"Shivajiraja can be counted as one of the best warriors the East has seen.

His agility in battle and bold judgment, among other qualities, may draw comparisons with the great King Adolphus of Sweden. Be it the war of Pratapgad against Afzal Khan, the attack on Shahiste Khan, the battle of Sangamner, the crisis of Agra, Shivaji Maharaj was directly in the front line.

Scientist

Maharaj did not answer many questions about his religion. They asked Amavasya not to come out and attacked Amavasya. Maharaja broke the notion that the seven seas should not go, or about the sea. The name of Maharaja has to be taken as the first king in the history of India who ruled the sea and built his own armoury. While water tourism is banned in Hinduism. There has never been a king like Shivaji in the history of India who ruled the sea without any discussion. In the 18th century a British naval officer said that Shivaji was born in one fort and died in another because our fortune was great. If Shivaji the king had been born at sea, we British would not have had to come to India, Shivaji himself would have reached London.

Leadership

Jadunath Sarkar, writing about Maharaj's feat, says Shivaji awakened the sleeping society, raised those who were awake, made those who were standing walk, and placed the mark of Swarajya on the shoulders of those who were walking. He did all this feat in just fifty years of life. One of the most overlooked and greatest battles in world history is that of the Marathas and Aurangzeb. Maharaj died in 1680. From 1681 to 1707, the Marathas were fighting the Mughals for 27 years. Against a strong general named Aurangzeb, the Marathas were fighting for twenty-seven years without any strong leadership and without any hope of victory. The Marathas were fighting for the saffron mark of Hindu Swarajya placed on their shoulders by Chhatrapati, for the Swarajya created in their minds. In today's stressful life, we see that people change political parties, change groups and are ready to change everything when they say they are not getting anything. After Maharaj's death and when he was sure that he would get nothing from him, people continued to fight for Maharaj. Such a fight has never been fought for anyone in the history of the world.

How could people be ready to throw their lives on just one word of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj?

Endowment of character:- Seeing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's attitude towards women, even the enemies of the kings are stunned and called out. This is where everyone came in. Half of the population was women, so they won half of the battles here. In any kind of war there was a rule that women and children should not be touched and it was strictly followed. Brothers, brothers-in-law, nephews were not spared. Killing brothers and marrying brother's wife was the only thing to be satisfied. There is no evidence that Shivaji Maharaj drank alcohol or drunkenness. Shivaji Raja was not fond of dancing and singing. Due to the fair treatment of those who surrendered, the name of the kings was very high in the public mind.

Unbelievable feat :- The people of that time saw the divine feat that the next generation would worship Shivaji Maharaj sitting in the temple. Defeat of Afzal Khan (who was feared by Aurangzeb and survived the siege of Bidar) , relief from the siege of Siddi Jauhar from Panhala fort, attack on Shahiste Khan's army, most important went to Agra and gave the trumpet from there to Aurangzeb, with such prowess Shivaji Maharaj was given divine power. There was a reaction in the public mind that there is a hand or a blessing.

Janata Raja :- Gave big loans to farmers and forgave them. Gave many aids like plough. Reward to the one who brought the wolf's tail. The king did things like this to win over the farmers. Before that, no one tried to increase the agricultural area. He did not listen to Malik Ambar's agricultural method Further reforms were implemented which were helpful to the farmer. Mughal and Adilshahi systems were predatory.

All-inclusive and pan-religious: staunch Hindus, they had many Muslim chieftains, armies. From Brahmins, Marathas, 18 Pagad castes, Dalits, they formed a union of all castes. While giving punishment, they did not discriminate between their own caste or foreign caste.

ARMAR No other king of India raised armar except Chaul Raj, Mughals also used armar by paying Portuguese. Even Shivaji Maharaj raised huge armar in Konkan and all the Konkanians were convinced that he was not a mere vassal but the ruler of the world. is a great king.

Vatandari stopped For many centuries Vatandari was going on in Maharashtra, only looting in the name of quarter, Shivaji Maharaj stopped the Vatandari system and the same effect was good on the people.

Shahaji Maharaj's Punai When initially there were no people there, Shahaji Raja's Punai decreased, people like Kanhoji Jedhe, Dadoji Konddev stood by.

Slave system Mughal three royals had slavery system in many places. Buying and selling of slaves was going on for many years. But Shivaji Maharaj never practiced the actual practice.

Shivaji Raje is the only king who converted many Hindus to his own religion.

How were secret messages sent during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's time and how was Shivaji Maharaj's spy agency?

How were secret messages sent during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's time? And how was Shivaji Maharaj's spy account?

The use of espionage in the Maratha Empire was fully accomplished by only two persons. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the other Nana Fadnavis.

In modern history, using espionage to destroy enemies, 1) Israel - Mossad 2) Russia - KGB ... President Putin of Russia was the head of their spy agency (KGB).

The main branch of any state's army is its intelligence agency. Half of the success of a king's campaign depends on spies. Shivaji Maharaj's espionage was also very skillful and excellent. It was really so secret that exactly how many people were working in Shivaji Maharaj's spy agency and how their daily work was going on is still an unsolved mystery! . Some names like Bahirji Naik Jadhav, Vishwasrao Nanaji Dighe Deshpande-Musekhorekar, Vallabhadas Gujarati, Sundardas Prabhuji Gujarati, Mahadev Mali are found in it. The head of Swarajya's spy agency, Mose Khoryasatal Deshpande, was a formidable man named Vishwasrao Nanaji Dighe. In the Maharaja's war with Afzal Khan, further after Afzalvada, the conquest of the Pratapgad to Kolhapur belt and the invasion of the Mongols even when the Maharaja was trapped in Panhala. Maybe because of Vishwasrao's age, But he was given a break and replaced by a man as bold and as heavy-chested as the spy chief, Bhairji Naik Jadhav! After this, Bahirji Naik Jadhav remained the head of the spy agency throughout Shivaji Maharaj's lifetime. There are evidences that these outsiders have also performed very well. The most important of them was the looting of Surat (first and second) and it was done very secretly when Maharaj was trapped in Agra!

The Intelligence Department also had two divisions. That is, spies in the official intelligence agency and lawyers going to foreign countries!

The identity of the people who were in the secret service itself was unknown. These people were working in such an unknown manner that even their family members could not recognize that the person in front of them was one of them. Now, what will the enemy know about this state of the family? These spies, in various guises, used to convey the news of the enemy to the Maharaja or, in the absence of the Maharaja, to the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief or an equivalent officer of the Swarajya. Then on occasion these spies were ready to do any work like Saints, Gosavi-Bairagis, Pirs, Garudis, Kudmude astrologers, Panakyas, Fitoors, sharpening weapons, hoofing horses, vethbigari. In any case, taking care that no one would find out, these spies of Swarajya used to perform their work very well, keeping a fierce and sharp eye everywhere. Every time a spy of the enemy's company leaves his work, or himself Hoon could not bring the news to Maharaj. Because of this, at a distance of a few kilometers, the men of the Swarajya spy agency were deployed for various tasks. These spies used to work in a chain manner and reach the news at very timely, very fast speed wherever Maharaj was.

The second line of spies is Maharaja's lawyers! Lawyers who went to foreign countries to negotiate also used to bring good and accurate news. Originally, Maharaj used to send a sharp-eyed and very careful, and very intelligent person as his lawyer. Sonopant Vishwanath Dabir Pantsumant, his son-in-law Trimbak Sondev Dabir, Sonopant's son-in-law Raghunath Ballal Korde, Raghunath Ballal Atre Pantasbanis, Sakhopant Krishna Lohokare, Mulla Haider alias Kazi Haider, Pantaji Gopinath Bokil, etc. Check out the performance of these Bilandar lawyers of Maharaja-

At the beginning of the establishment of Swarajya, the Maharaja quickly captured each and every region under the control of Adil Shah. But the Maharaja played another trick, he sent his lawyer, Sonopant Dabir, a highly diplomatic and experienced Brahmin trusted by Shahajiraj, to Aurangzeb to get the recognition of the conquered territory of Adilshahi. Aurangzeb was also surprised, because Maharaj had won Mulukh from Adil Shah, and he was asking permission from Aurangzeb! Poor Aurangzeb felt that Shivaji was keeping him away from fighting him, he sent a letter to Maharaj along with Sonapanta, "... the forts of the Samprat Bijapurs, the land you have, we have our approval. We are totally greedy for you…”. This letter was dated of 23 April 1657.. But Aurangzeb did not know that, The man who has come to us as a lawyer is so arrogant. ... and exactly one week later, d. On 30th April 1657, the Maharaja took with him five to six hundred Mawlas and virtually plundered Peth Junnar, a very important Thane of the Mongols. Junnar's coffers filled with lakhs of rupees are empty! After hearing this news, Aurangzeb was furious. Of course, Aurangzeb was sure that Aurangzeb would understand this news at some point! That is why he sent Sonopant's son-in-law Raghunath Ballal Korde again to Aurangzeb as a lawyer. Raghunathpant was also a bilander like his father-in-law. He sweetly spoke, in every way appeased Aurangzeb's anger and also conveyed the repentant farewell of Shivaji Maharaj. Finally, Aurangzeb also forgave Maharaj with a 'generous heart'! Because he too was in a hurry to seize the throne of Delhi before everyone else. Pantaji Gopinath Bokil, another lawyer of Maharaja, was very responsible. The Maharaja had sent Pantajipant as a lawyer to Afzal Khan. Afzal Khan was also aware that Maharaj used to call Pant as uncle. Uncle did the important feat of bringing a mighty enemy like Afjalkhana from Vai to Pratapgad by constantly licking his honey stick saying 'Shivaji Maharaj is afraid of you'. Apart from this, the evil intentions in the Khan's mind and the situation in the Khan's army were conveyed to the Maharaja from time to time and alerted the Maharaja. Once the Khan was embarrassed, he said to his uncle, 'If you take responsibility that Shivaji will not betray Shivaji when I come under Pratapgarh, I will come. Because you are Junardar (junar means Janam) that is Brahmin! A Brahmin's word is very sacred, then you give me the certificate!' Pant knew the heart of the Maharaja.

In this and many other performances, in almost every one of them, the intelligence service performed very well. During raids on Maharaja's Shaistekhan, a gardener from Lal Mahal used to provide news to Maharaja. Maharaja used to understand the small events happening in the palace in great detail. See, where the Maharaj's spies had reached!

The spy is like the third eye of the king! From the point of view of Hera, it is as if the king is looking into the territory of the enemy. Because of that, the intelligence had to be very careful. Not a single spy walked around in a frenzy. If this happened, the success of the campaign would have been lost! Spies were very clever, intelligent and versatile. Shivaji Maharaj's military system and espionage were so precise that the Mongli chieftains and even the emperor himself sometimes thought, 'This Shivaji must know sorcery, otherwise he would not have made such 'sudden and precise' attacks'... As they did not know about 'magic', they believed in these silly superstitions. But this alone shows the importance of Swarajya spies. What to write? Salute to these sleepy chested spies who risked their lives for Swarajya!!

Performance of espionage

After killing Afzal Khan, the kings invaded Adil Shah's kingdom. Seeing the increasing strength and courage of the kings, the enraged Adil Shah sent Siddi Jauhar against the kings. This Siddi Jauhar was not completely loyal to Adilshahi. He had rebelled against Adil Shah a few times before. But when Adil Shah was in trouble, Jauhar himself wrote a letter apologizing for his bad deeds, asking Adil Shah to send him on a mission, and as Adil Shah had no other great chief at present, he sent Jauhar against the king. Siddi Johar besieged Panhala with thirty to thirty five thousand troops. Even though the siege of Panhala had been going on for four months, there was no sign of lifting the siege. The kings began to play their game.

News that strengthened Adil Shah's initial suspicions about Jauhar began to spread through the king's spies. The king escaped from the siege of Panhala because Jauhar was fitur to the king, a rumor spread everywhere at that time.

According to his Tarikh-i-Ali, the king repeated the same game played with Afzal Khan. 'I am very scared, have committed many crimes. The king started singing the song "I will fill my mind with the preaching of your grace" etc. Jauhar was happy with this letter from the king. But he was fooled by Shivaji's acceptance letter.

The news of Raje and Siddi was, of course, conveyed through spies as and where they wanted. In this, the kings achieved two things. Leaving Jauhar unharmed, he paved the way for his escape and at the same time Adil Shaha and Jauhar split. The result of all this politics was that later Adil Shah killed Johar by using poison.

2) After conquering Pirda, Shahistekhan sent Kartalab to invade the Konkan. Khana kept his riding route very secret. Khan suggested that he would descend via Borghat route. But Khana was yet to experience how capable the king's spy agency was.

News reached the Khana that the Raja had started massing his forces around Pen. Khana's journey started via Borghat itself, but suddenly instead of going to Lonavala, he turned a little south. A changed way of eating reached the kings. This whole region is densely forested. Khan reached Kurwanda Ghat on February 1. In fact the king's army also entered the forest of Kurwanda Ghat on one date. Khana's patrol team assured that the route was safe. Before the king came to know about Khana's changed course, Khana planned to attack the king's army by descending from the Kurwanda Ghat. The fact that Khan would descend from the Kurwanda Ghat was very important for the attack. About two miles from Kurwanda Ghat is a village called Chavani. The road ahead from here is very steep and very bumpy. That is the way one person at a time has to go in a 'single line' like this. 'Ekayne or Shailasthambawatkhanjantarudke or Swabhumibalenabhihanyu: .' According to Arthashastra, when the enemy is on a path passable by one man, on a mountain, behind a fence, in a swamp or in water, he should occupy himself on favorable ground and attack him. The kings took advantage of this natural situation. After coming to Chavani, there is Umbere village, half a mile uphill by the bend of the river. The mile-long valley between Chavani and Umbere village is like a pass, so it is called Umberkhind. The soldiers who are hiding in the forest are supposed to force the advance of the enemy's army on the border or to destroy the enemy's logistics, kumak and foraging units on a single man-passable route. On February 1, the Raja planted his army in a strategic position in Umbarkhindi till evening. The army had swords, bows and arrows, guns and plenty of stones. Stay on favorable ground and attack him. The kings themselves got ready on the hill at the mouth of the pass. Khan's army left Ghatmatha. The plan was that if the Khan moved forward, he would come from behind without his knowledge and confuse him. According to Mowgli tradition, the Khan's army was very large. He was getting tired while going through this narrow path. By about eleven o'clock the army reached Chavani. After some rest the next journey started. Now the sun was shining. Along the way there was a famine of water and a sudden sound of trumpets. Khan's army and horses were stunned. Before realizing what had happened, the roar of 'Har Har Mahadev' rang out in the pass and the attack took place. They did not know where the Marathas were attacking from. Khan's army tried to run back, but it was now realized that the way back was also blocked. The armor of the Marathas was terrible. Seeing the whole situation, Raibagan, a brave lady chieftain who was with Kartalbakhana, advised the Khan to surrender. At last Kartalab sent his messenger to the kings. '

The kings stopped the war. Abhay was given to Kartalab. You should leave all your means and wealth where you are. Conditions were put before the Khan that the natives in his army should show favor to the kings if they wanted to come to them. Khana had no choice but to accept all the conditions.

This entire battle has once again demonstrated how capable the king's intelligence is. With swift and well-planned movements, the Raja completely defeated an army of 20,000 with only a thousand troops, even with a very small force. Also acquired huge wealth and manpower. Once again this Vijigishu king achieved complete victory.[ 1 ]

3)Attack on Shahiste Khan, Escape from Agra...Loot of Surat is another example of spies running rampant...History does not know whether Shivaji Maharaj passed through Petarya or became Bhoi. No one knows for sure by which route Shivaji Maharaj came to Rajgad. Escape from Agra is a feat of espionage at its best.

What was the diet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj?

Shivarai was a pure vegetarian; And vegetables and bread were their main diet! Although Shivarai himself did not eat meat, some of his Sardars and Mawlas used to eat meat on rare occasions. And they still do today! As hunting was the hobby of the royal family and Mawlas, some people without any thought consider Shivaraya as a non-vegetarian! However, the possibility that Shahaji Raje ate meat cannot be ruled out. (Of course, this is only a guess.) Shivarai himself was not a non-vegetarian, but he never hated non-vegetarians. If we want to give evidence about this Shiva Rai was not a non-vegetarian, we can refer to hundreds of books. Parmanand, a contemporary of Shivaraya, has clearly mentioned it in the book 'Sri Shivbharat'. Many editions of this book are still available in the market today.

During Shiva Raya's time, however, it was customary to sacrifice bucks on special occasions. But this custom was followed by the kings. Meat was rarely cooked at Shiva Raya's fort. Shiva Raya's diet consisted mainly of jowari, millet or ragi bread and vegetables. Milk, butter, ghee, curd and buttermilk were used by Shivaraya and his mawlas. Each Sardar of Shivaraya used to bake 30-40 loaves of bread at a time! Although the Mawls were not allowed to eat meat at the fort, they were free to eat meat at home. Even during the time of Peshwas, though Peshwas themselves were vegetarians, prominent Sardars like Nishde, Holkar and others used to eat meat on rare occasions. Even today the people of Maharashtra are largely vegetarians. And those who eat meat for a month and a half also have vegetables as their main diet...

How many years did Shivaji Maharaj live?

They did not live, they still live.

Today, 17 February 2021, Maharaja's age is 390 years + 11 months + 30 days.

or 4692 months.

or 20400 weeks.

or 1,42,799 days.

or 3,427,176 hours,

or 205,630,560 minutes,

or 12,337,833,600 seconds.

Because even though his physical life span was 50 years 1 month 16 days, for me Maharaj is still alive today.

- Maharaj is alive in the unconscious wind that blows in the rocks of Sahyadri.

- The Maharaj is alive in the orange tila and the crescent on the forehead.

- Mishit Maharaj is still alive with beards grown by the youth, even if it is a fashion.

- Maharaj is alive in the radium sticker applied on the cars.

- Maharaj is alive in every saffron wallpaper to be kept in the phone.

- Maharaj is alive in this black soil that our forefathers sewed with blood.

- Maharaj is alive in the saffron fluttering on houses, cars, streets and in the square.

- Maharaj is alive in the muscular strength of every mountaineer who climbs the fort.

- Maharaj is alive in every thapita and tuntunu star that falls on the dafa during Powada.

- Maharaj is alive in the words of the Maratha history books.

- Maharaj is alive in the chanting of 'Ai Raja Udo Udo' in Bhavani Mata's courtyard.

- Maharaj is alive in every single stone, khachit and kheelga of Giridurga.

- On whose feet millions of ocean waves recede, the Maharaja is alive in every water fortress.

- The Maharaj is alive in every single drop that seeps into the water tank, from the fort's subway, from the loft, from the watchtower to the water tank.

- Even today the hearts of the enemies of Swarajya are filled with shock Maharaj is alive.

- While chanting Har Har Mahadev, Maharaj is alive in every soul that comes to mind.

- As soon as you say 'Shivaji Maharaj Ki', the Maharaj is alive in the 'Jai' that comes from your lips.

- Maharaj is alive in the blood of the golden pages of history.

- Maharaj is alive in every feti, shalut, topit, dhoti, in every layer that he wore on his head.

- In the knowledge of Brahmins, in the bravery of Kshatriyas, in the wealth of merchants, and in the land of Shudras, Maharaj lives.

- Maharaj is alive in every song played on Jayanti DJ.

- From the top of the temple to the sanctum sanctorum, Maharaja is alive in every notch and mould.

- Iman Itbare Maharaj is alive in every hard working wrist.

- Maharaj is alive in the light of the lamp that is constantly shining on the wall.

- Maharaj is alive in every lump of ancestral land and in every clod of it.

- Your name, surname, religion, and existence itself Maharaj is alive.

- Maharaj is alive in every Hindu's heart and soul.

- His majesty is alive in the throbbing blood of everyone who has read and understood history.

Actually Maharaj was who we are today. Otherwise it is not necessary to tell what would have happened.

Therefore, one does not think how many years Maharaj lived. But the mind is filled with the thought of how many years they will live.

Other normal men like us have age. The age of Yuga Purusha is measured in Yuga. And even though many such ages may come, Maharaj will continue to beat in the heart of every Hindu.

Because age is for the body, not for performance.

Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji 🚩.

Was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maratha or Rajput?

Although Marathas and Rajputs seem to be two different castes today, they have the same origin. As time changes, society and customs also change. Most of the people in this country have emerged from the same community. Earlier there was no caste system, but caste system. And all the four varnas were part of the same religion or system.

There were no Vishnu, Shiva or similar deities in the Vedic period. At that time the gods Indra and Varuna were mainly worshipped. Deities such as Rama, Krishna, Vithoba, Khandoba etc. came into existence later. Santoshi Mata, Gajanan Maharaj, Saint Saibaba are the gift of modern times.

The point is that with the passage of time professions, devotions, customs and society changed and many groups emerged from one group. The latter period was dominated by saints and it was during this period that the deity named Shivarai was born. Shivaraya tied the knot of Marathi mind and Maratha society came into existence. Shivaraya is considered as an avatar of Lord Shiva. But Shivaraya's policy is exactly in line with Lord Krishna's policy. The basis of our castes is business. Today a caste called Kunbi exists in the country. But, Kunbi literally means farmer. And Shivaraya's grandfather was a Kunbi by profession, said senior history researcher Babasaheb Purandare. Overall, both the words Maratha and Rajput are associated with the royal family. So was Shivaji Maharaj a Maratha or a Rajput? Instead of being trapped in this labyrinth, he was only a defender of religion and a burning volcano that instilled vitality in the Hindu religion.

Why did Emperor Aurangzeb not come to Deccan till Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was alive?

Durg Maharshi Mande sir used to say, study Aurangzeb before studying Shivaji Maharaj. Until you know Aurangzeb, you will not know Shivaji Maharaj. Knowing how mighty and how clever the enemy was, only he who fought alongside him would know the value of his king's prowess.

Siv sarja ke bair ko yah fal alamgir lute tere gad sabhi kute gaye wazir~ Kaviraj Bhushan ( O Alamgir (Aurangzeb) what did you gain by enmity with Shivaji Maharaj? All your forts were lost and the wazir was killed.)

Jadunath Sarkar has written many books about Aurangzeb. Marathi books are written with Shivaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb as the only connection, Aurangzeb other matter is little neglected.

Basically, why did Aurangzeb Shivaji Maharaj come to Maharashtra even after his death in 1681?

Akbar

His beloved Shahzada Akbar, Akbar stayed with the Rajputs and revolted. Aurangzeb defeated him by ambush. Akbar fled to Sambhaji Maharaj. And Aurangzeb followed Akbar and came to Maharashtra. Some say that Aurangzeb got an excuse. Note that this Prince never went back to his father but went directly to Iran from Vengurlya and died in Iran in 1702.

Burhanpur climb

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was crowned and in 15 days Burhanpur, known as the nose of the Mughals, was looted. Shivaji Maharaj plundered Surat twice but never Burhanpur. Sambhaji Maharaj looted Burhanpur and many mosques were destroyed. Many clerics from Burhanpur sent complaints to Aurangzeb and demanded compensation.

Many enemies

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Mughals were not the only enemies, but there were many more enemies (the three royals, internal revolutionaries, Portuguese, Siddis, English, Dutch) and Aurangzeb's Marathas were not the only enemies, but there were many more enemies. Shah of Iran, Satnami, Sikh, Jat, Rajput Bandali, Ahom of Assam, Adil Shahi, Qutb Shahi, Pathan Rebellion of Afghanistan, . Shivaji Maharaj treated the Mughals like a diplomat. Later Adil Shahi and Qutb Shahi were reconciled.

Diplomacy of Shivaji Maharaj.

Aurangzeba indirectly helped Shivaji Maharaj when Shahjiharaj was imprisoned by Adilshahi. After being imprisoned, Shivaji Maharaj wrote a letter saying that I am entering your service. Aurangzeb gladly accepted and pressured Shahaji Maharaj to release Adilshahi by writing a letter of opposition. Mahajan did not know that all the Muslim royals are their staunch enemies. But they never hurt the three Shahinas at all. Systemic method ended Adilshahi. He took half of India with the help of Qutb Shahi in southern conquest and left Qutb Shahi. Sambhaji Maharaj also helped Adil Shahi and Qutb Shahi later. In 1657, Afzal Khan was killed and Aurangzeb must have had eight scars on his forehead. Later at the same time Aurangzeb sent Shahiste Khan. Then his mightiest chief Mirza Raje Jaisingh. Mirza named Shivaji Maharaj. A treaty was signed at Purandar. Shivaji Maharaj went to Agra, From there he escaped and in 1667 he took Mansabi on behalf of Sambhaji Maharaj. Sambhaji Maharaj turned five thousand. Literally Maharaj suppressed this struggle for another 4 years with diplomacy. But later in 1671 Surat, Jalna was plundered. Many chieftains like Jaswantsinh and Diler Khan became useless. At the same time Aurangzeb was engaged elsewhere. In 1674 Maharaja was crowned and Aurangzeb rose but later Shivaji Maharaj conquered the south. Until then, Aurangzeb was constantly writing letters to Adil Shahi and Qutb Shahi to end Shivaji Maharaj and showing concern for the Muslim religion, but Qutb Shahi and Adil Shahi knew that Aurangzeb would end them too sooner or later. Therefore, the religious war was an excuse and Aurangzeb's goal was to expand the state. I think Shivaji Maharaj Sambhaji Maharaj was right in diplomatic matters.

poor self-government

Basically, Maharashtra was not prosperous at that time. Mumbai was not united. The income coming here is the lowest in the entire country. There were rich regions like Ganga River, Bengal, Malwa, Gujarat. It was obviously ignored.

Aurangzeb's experience of Swaraj

Aurangzeb was the Deccan Subhedar twice, so he knew the ins and outs of Aurangabad. He knew that it was not easy to win a war here in the harsh terrain.

Death of Shivaji Maharaj

Shivaji Maharaj died on 3rd May 1680 and the Marathas were in a state of turmoil due to succession. So Aurangzeb thought that victory would be easy.

Aurangzeb's religious fanaticism alienated his kingdom from his subjects, including his soldiers. Aurangzeb's religious loyalties prevailed over his political loyalties and the foundations on which the Mughal Empire rested were shaken. His insistence on conquering the Deccan was unwise. Aurangzeb waged a never-ending war against the Marathas, who rode the wind and had no other leadership than loyalty to self-rule in their own hearts.

Do you think it is true that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj made a golden throne for himself when he created the kingdom of ryots?

Such questions are also asked about Modi whether he buys expensive clothes, cars etc. Why use I never look at the questioner's details, to avoid bias. But such questions are more prejudicial and less exciting.

Basically, India (or Maharaja's Hindu Swarajya) is not an indigenous poor province in Africa. And Chhatrapati (or our current Prime Minister Modi) represents the entire nation, nationally and internationally. How do you think a glorious nation like India should be represented?

The throne, which is the highest point of Hindavi Swarajya established by Maharaja, should be made of gold, also magnificent and studded with jewels! And everyone should know what is Hindu Swarajya and who are Chhatrapati!

**Whoever thinks that the Chhatrapati collected this money by looting from the poor ryots and then built this throne, should jump off the cliff himself. Even so, he does not deserve to live!

During the time of Shivaji Maharaj, was Maharaja the only Hindu king in unbroken India or were there any other Hindu kings like Maharaja?

Not at all, the fiery brilliance of Shiv Chhatrapati breathed life into the dead issues in this country and again inspired Kshatradharma on this land of India. In this, many kings were encouraged to fight against the Mughals, some of whom were prominent

Maharana Rajasingh Sisodia (1652-1680) - The direct great-grandson of Maharana Pratapsingh, the Hindu Surya hero of Mewar, and a man of Shivaraya's own blood, who directly defied and trumpeted Aurangzeb's imposition of the jizya tax. Not only this, but after marrying Aurangzeb's wife, she defeated the Mughals 3 times. Where there was no one to give shelter to the idol of Krishna in Mathura, Maharana submitted and gladly took the responsibility of protecting the idol of Shri Krishna on his own shoulders and said that the Mughals would have to behead 1 lakh of my princes to touch this idol.

Ahom Kings - The kings of the Ahom dynasty of Assam, led by their commander Lachit Barphukan (Barphukan - Commander-in-Chief), like Shiv Chhatrapati, had driven the Mughals into their kingdoms with guerilla poetry.

Rani Chennamma (1677-1696) - This queen of the Keldi kingdom in Karnataka proved brave enough to fight the Mughal army to protect Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj on his way to Jinji.

Raja Chhatrasal Bundela (1671-1731) - After the Bundela Raja Champataraya was ungratefully killed by Aurangzeb despite helping him in his struggle for power against his brothers, his third son Chhatrasal came to the Deccan and after meeting Shiv Chhatrapati, became Veerashri Sancharli. Later he fought against the Mughals for a long time in Bundelkhand and established his own kingdom.

True Padshah Guru Gobindsingh (1675-1708) - After his father Guru Teg Bahadur was brutally killed by Aurangzeb, he held the post of Guru at the age of 9, but lost his 4 children and mother to the Mughals, together with his Khalsa Sikh followers, he fought the Mughals till his last breath.

Raja Ramsingh Jat (1670-1688) - This Jat king of Bharatpur, seeing Aurangzeb trapped in the south, directly attacked Fatehpur Sikri to avenge the destruction of the temples of Kashi and Mathura, broke Akbar's tomb and burned his remains, and was later killed by the Mughals.

Many small and big kings like him took part in the war against Aurangzeb and the Mughals and carved their name in golden letters in history.

Did Krishnaji Bhaskar attack Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj killed him really happen or is it made up by someone?

To understand the Afzal Khan massacre historically, we will examine three historical contexts.

1. Shiv Bharat

2. Jedhe Karina

3. Ignorant Powada

Now let's see the details of Krishnaji Bhaskar Kulkarni without looking at the entire incident between them.Basically even the surname Kulkarni has no historical context.

Shivabharata:

According to verses 43 to 48 of Shivbharata, when Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal, one of Afzal's Brahmin servants struck him with a sword . Its name is not given in these verses. But this time the Brahmin servant who came with Afzal Khana was definitely 'Krishnajipant Bhaskar'. You can read it below.

Jedhe Kareena:

It is recorded in the Jedhe Karinya that Afzal's Hejiba attacked Rajashri ( Shivaji Maharaj) hater which means holding a weapon. Later Maharaj's people came and this Hejib was killed. But it is not said who killed him. Afzal Khan's Hejib was Krishnaji Bhaskar.

Ajnandas Powada:

In the short version of Ajnandas , it is recorded that Krishnaji stabbed Shivaji Maharaj thrice but as he was a Brahmin, Shivaji Maharaj did not kill him but Krishnaji Bhaskar was killed by the barrage of Jeeva Mahal. But in the long version there is no record of what happened to Krishnaji.

In short, Krishnaji attacked and attacked Maharaj, but it is not written in any document that Shivaji Maharaj killed Krishnaji. Brahmin killing was considered a sin at that time, so none of the Bakharkaras mentions that Maharaja killed Krishnaji. The above historical references are available about Krishnaji Bhaskar. But these days, since casteism started entering the history, Krishnajipant has become very important. Many people think that Afzal Khana is also a big villain. It is not that Krishnaji Bhaskar was a saint. But it was not that he was feeding himself by doing the service of a foreign emperor, many Marathi people were not only doing the service of Bahshah with faith, but they were not looking forward to take arms against Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji by Sarjerao Ghatge, Kate, Mambaji Bhosale, Baji GhorpadeHe participated in several campaigns against the Maharaja. So what is the point to be made that just as all the castes supported the Hindu Swarajya and built it, equally worthlessly there were people of all castes who opposed this Hindu Swarajya.

What was written about Sambhaji Maharaj in Aurangzeb's death certificate?

Aurangzeb, who had territories as far as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, controlled 25% of the world's GDP, killed all his brothers, imprisoned his father, destroyed Hindu pilgrimage sites like Kashi, Mathura, fathered four wives and a dozen sons, remembered only one man's name in his will. . That is Shivaji Maharaj. (Not written about Sambhaji Maharaj).

This death certificate is still in the Bikaner museum. The letter originally written in Persian was translated by Jadunath Sarkar.

This is clause 12 in the will. The 12th clause is directly written only to Shivaji Maharaj. In it he says that the laziness he showed in rescuing Shiva (Shivaji Maharaj) from Agra cost him his life.

Each clause is translated into Marathi. It is mentioned in the book Akham e Alamgir.

He has spent 11 clauses on how to perform his last rites, the importance of his army. But he remembered Shivaji Maharaj in 12 clauses because of the man who killed himself and 5 lakh army.

The Will of Aurangzeb (1658-1707): A Rare Document

1.Plunged into sin on behalf of this sinner [ie. I] cover the holy grave of Hasan because those drowned in the ocean of sins have no protection other than taking refuge in the lines of mercy and forgiveness.

2. Of the cost of the hat sewn by me, four rupees and two rupees belong to Anna, Mohaldar Ayya Beg. Take the amount and spend it on covering this helpless animal. Three hundred and five rupees from the salary of copying the Quran is in my purse for personal expenses. Distribute them among the fakirs on the day of my death

3. Obtain the remaining necessary articles/documents [of my funeral] from Ali's broker; For he is the nearest heir among my children, and the responsibility is upon him, legal or illegitimate [at my funeral]; This helpless man (i.e. Aurangzeb) is not responsible for them, because the survival of the dead is in the hands of the survivors.

4.Bury this vagabond (i.e. Aurangzeb) with his head in the divine stone from the right path, as every destructive sinner who is indifferently treated before the Great Emperor (i.e. God) will be merciful.

5. Cover the top of my coffin with a coarse white cloth called gaji. Avoid the spread of roofs and illegal innovations like [processions] of musicians and the celebration of the Prophet's birth.

6.It is fitting for a ruler (i.e. my heir) to be kind to this shameless creature [i.e.] Aurangzeb who roams the deserts of the Deccan. Even if there is any obvious mistake on their part, forgive them and ignore them.

7. No other nation is better than the Persians to act as rulers. And even in war none of this nation turned its face from the field. They're not guilty because they disobeyed once, but it's hard to move on." Gather them. You have to gather them.

8. Turani people were always soldiers. Raids, night raids, arrests and punishments are cruel and they are a hundred feet from the stupidity of the Hindustani (people), who will take part in their heads but will not leave their posts in battle. We should favor this race."

9.You should honor the Sayyids who are worthy of blessings. But you should be very careful while dealing with Syeds. Do not desire to love them deeply, but do not dominate them outwardly as they become the dominant partner. And demand an empire.

10. As far as possible the rulers of the empire should not avoid wandering about; He should avoid staying in one place, which will give him external comfort but will result in a thousand miseries and troubles."

11.Never trust your children or get intimate with them in your life, because if Shah Jahan Emperor had not treated Darashikoh in such a manner, his case could not have been such a tragedy. A king's words are barren (meaning a king's word has no value after he is dead or imprisoned).

12..Government should be well informed in the news of the main empire. Ignorance even for a moment becomes a cause of infamy (later infamy) for many years. Shiva unfortunately escaped from my (hands) carelessness and I had to do hard work till the end of my life.(Aurangzeb talking about Maratha Mughal War 27)
