Was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maratha or Rajput?

Although Marathas and Rajputs seem to be two different castes today, they have the same origin. As time changes, society and customs also change. Most of the people in this country have emerged from the same community. Earlier there was no caste system, but caste system. And all the four varnas were part of the same religion or system.

There were no Vishnu, Shiva or similar deities in the Vedic period. At that time the gods Indra and Varuna were mainly worshipped. Deities such as Rama, Krishna, Vithoba, Khandoba etc. came into existence later. Santoshi Mata, Gajanan Maharaj, Saint Saibaba are the gift of modern times.

The point is that with the passage of time professions, devotions, customs and society changed and many groups emerged from one group. The latter period was dominated by saints and it was during this period that the deity named Shivarai was born. Shivaraya tied the knot of Marathi mind and Maratha society came into existence. Shivaraya is considered as an avatar of Lord Shiva. But Shivaraya's policy is exactly in line with Lord Krishna's policy. The basis of our castes is business. Today a caste called Kunbi exists in the country. But, Kunbi literally means farmer. And Shivaraya's grandfather was a Kunbi by profession, said senior history researcher Babasaheb Purandare. Overall, both the words Maratha and Rajput are associated with the royal family. So was Shivaji Maharaj a Maratha or a Rajput? Instead of being trapped in this labyrinth, he was only a defender of religion and a burning volcano that instilled vitality in the Hindu religion.
